Every year more and more organizations not only become aware that their people need to be developed, but, furthermore, that their people must be developed as part of an expert and comprehensive system responsive to the needs of their particular business.

As a rule, this realization results in starting a so-called Corporate University within the organization.

We understand Corporate University as a system of company's strategy implementation through the people and by the people who work for the company, a system that is unambiguous and transparent in the way it is managed.

The purpose of the system is to ensure that the key employee groups have the competencies most needed for the implementation of strategic business objectives.

Building a Corporate University is often justified and desirable in view of the following:

  • It gives the company an active tool for implementing its strategy. Personnel development will not only work to remedy the «skills and knowledge deficit», but add a focus on future strategic goals.

  • It creates a reliable long-term supply of qualified staff, which means that in terms of human resources the company is practically «unsinkable».

  • The Corporate University is an opportunity to increasingly motivate promising and talented employees.

  • It is an opportunity to monitor and constantly improve quality of training and development in terms of result as well as cost-effectiveness.

  • It ensures a smooth business process for employees' development, clearly defining responsibilities of each participant and presenting opportunities for adequately assessing the performance of all parties involved in the personnel development process. A Corporate University design and start-up is not an easy task, but rather one presenting obvious, as well as not so obvious challenges. We can participate in building your Corporate University as «architects» and/ or «providers».

Acting as architects, we design the system including all or part of the services described below per client's request:
  • Working together with the company's management, we address all key issues and make necessary choices regarding personnel development:
    1.  Who are our key employee groups?
    2.  What principles will underlie each group's development process?
    3.  What competencies are to be developed?
    4.  What will the system focus on in addition to competencies — career choices? Typical history of development in one position? Other aspects?

  • We describe business processes of personnel development, tie them in with other processes in the company (such as budgeting, assessment, motivation, career planning, etc.)

  • We put together all documents necessary to maintain the system (from General Provisions to individual forms).

  • We develop the system of evaluation to measure the effectiveness of
    1.  individual training activities,
    2.  Corporate University as a whole,
    3.  performance of employees responsible for personnel development,
    4.  providers' performance.

  • We develop specific development programs.

  • We train company employees so they can manage the system successfully.

  • We make a detailed plan for starting and running the Corporate University.
Acting in providers' capacity, we can prepare and conduct part of the programs for you (typically, those will be the most challenging programs requiring unusual formats and/ or full customization).
